Welcome to the studio!
This is a little about how the beads are made
and the process!
All My beads are Soft glass.  Mostly Effetre and a bit of ASK, Double Helix, Vetrofond and Laluscha. This glass is sooo pretty by itself I sometimes have trouble Bringing myself to melt it! I always am so happy when it's done though!  All the Pretty things that come out of the kiln!!!!

There is so much more to just melting!!!! It seems like an easy concept however.... Glass seems to have it's own personality, each color reacting on it's own and with other glass colors and types! Sometimes it just doesn't work the way you wanted it to.

Each bead starts out being melted onto a stainless rod coated with bead separator that allows the beads to be removed when they are cool. It starts with a very basic round and then the possibilities  are endless!

The beads are cooled slowly in the kiln.  This ensures that the  beads  are strong and stay together! If you don't use one thing could crack while you wear it or explode before before it's cool! It usually works but there is always a chance that they won't survive!!! ****It's so hard to wait!!!!!***

All the Beads are cleaned, but if you find a bit of powder in the bead it's OK, it's most likely bead separator.

For more information on this process or to learn about how to get started yourself please contact me! There are lots of people out there to help, great teachers, artists, suppliers and books!
